MY CREDENTIALS: 

I hold a M.A. degree in Guidance & Counseling, and am a State of Michigan Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), as well as a member of the Michigan Counseling Association.   I earned a Professional Endorsement from the Institute For Life Coach Training in Ohio.   In 2013 I trained and became a Reiki Master.  I also have certificates for Esoteric Healing training, levels 1-5 from Dr. Barbara Briner at The Institute for Bioenergy Studies in Okemos, Michigan. Although I chose to no longer practice, I trained and became a Certified Hypnotist from Robert Ranger at The Institute of Transformational Hypnotherapy in East Lansing, Michigan. 

I have led many small groups on topics such as Children of Divorce, Grief and Loss, New Student Support, Marriage Support, Life Balance and Goal Setting, A Course on Miracles, and Happiness, and have led workshop presentations about Self Love. I continue to work on my personal and professional growth by regularly taking classes and workshops. From 2020-2023 I  participated in a Masters group class for spiritual growth with Sara Landon, a Spiritual channeler and teacher from California, which changed my perspective and life.  I love to learn and grow and consider myself a "life long learner".

I have worked in both schools and organizations as a counselor, and served 4 different school districts, including an alternative school for high school drop outs and a K-8 private school, each for or a year.  After 21 years of service at Okemos High School, as a School Counselor, I retired from the Okemos Community Schools. For 2 years after retirement I worked for a private business as a college consultant and advisor for high school school students and their parents.  I have owned and operated my own business of Joyful Spirits since 2013 and have worked with clients ages 13 to 86.  I have come to believe that whether it's Counseling, Life Coaching, or Reiki & energy work, each avenue has the capacity to help us heal by "unpeeling the onion". One layer at a time--we become aware and learn, grow, and heal, creating new beliefs and choices towards reaching our essence of the truth and love who we are. We each get to choose who we want to be and we are the creators of our life.
